VIDEO: Marcus Carter of Kitsap County Rifle & Revolver Club wows with tuneful shots

Marcus Carter, the longtime executive officer at Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club, seemingly effortlessly takes any one of a number of his guns and hits the metal targets, making a nice xylophone sound. He graciously let me try out close to 23 of his guns yesterday, which I will be featuring in our May issue, going over the positives and negatives of each. One gun was easily my favorite – and you’ll have to pick up the magazine to find out which and why. Having been the editor of Western Shooting Journal now for 14 months, learning even more about firearms, it did not surprise me that it was my favorite. I will reveal now, however, which gun surprised me at being so pleasant to shoot – the S&W .357. It had the best trigger pull of any, very smooth and fast. I was grinning from ear to ear.

Two Smith and Wesson .357s. The one I loved is the top one. It even had beautiful blued finish!

357-2
Smoke flew when I shot the .357 single-action Hawes.
