If you’re tight on budget but still want to get a scope for under $100. The good news is that there are plenty of great options available for under $100. For under $100 is it worth looking for one?
Its a good thing that the overall quality of the lens and magnification factors is about the same as those for higher end scopes.
Usually higher-end scopes come with extra features, settings and customization options to justify their higher cost point.
A lower end rifle scope quality of the lens and magnification factors will likely be about the same as the more expensive piece. Obviously, a more specialize shooter would require a scope with more whistles and bang for their needs. Under $100 scopes for an AR-15 is good enough for the average weekend shooters.
Things to Consider
-First off don’t expect much from a lower end AR-15 scope. The magnification will not be over 30X. Many people choose more magnification than they need.
-Forget about scopes that have eye-relief, the area for the eye to rest away from the scope’s end, of less than three inches. Less than that can cause damage to your eye as the rifle bucks from recoil.
-Disregard fancy reticles, the good scopes have clear, clean crosshairs which makes aiming easy.
- Bushnell Trophy TRS-25 Red Dot
For the subcompact sight department, the TRS-25 is 100 percent waterproof, fogproof, and shock resistant.
The sight uses a sharp red dot that is controlled by one knob to adjust the dot’s brightness.
- CVLIFE Red & Green Illuminated Scope
A targeting and distancing laser is mounted on the side of this device. This is a fantastic feature that makes this a good choice for shooting at distant targets. The magnification levels allow for full use of this laser, alternating between 2x to 10x magnification. Adjustment of the laser and other elements such as windage and elevation are controlled via easy-access knobs on the side of the chassis.
- UTG 3-9X21 1″ BugBuster Scope
The BugBuster is a great budget optic for your AR-15. The emerald lens is coated with a special material that improves light transmission which makes it easy to see the target.
The scope is durable, made from high-quality materials, and is totally weatherproof, another bonus if you plan to use this scope in the elements often. This is a good pick if you’ve got a larger rifle and you enjoy hunting in dense foliage.
- Tacticon Armament Predator V1 Red Dot Sight
The Predator is a great choice for close-range, fast-paced engagements of a tactical nature. If you plan to use your weapon for shooting at shorter distances, consider this option because of its sight and ability to combine with a backup iron sight.
The reticle is a red or green dot and its intensity can be adjusted via a small dial on the side of the chassis. Its mount is very easy to slide onto the rack of an AR-15 or similar rifle and can be combined with an iron sight at the front, allowing you to quickly switch between the sights as your situation evolves.
This device is incredibly durable, totally weatherproof, and is made from sturdy materials that can withstand some damage before showing signs of distress.
- UTG 3 12X44 30mm Compact Scope
This small option is great for rapid fire. Its reticle and settings are firm and precise at all times thanks to its steady turret that maintains stability even as your rifle fires many rounds in quick succession. The device is totally weatherproof and built to last for a long time.
The lens is the big selling point here. The emerald and coated for scratch-resistance and has a better light distribution than many competitor’s products, giving you a crystal-clear sight picture no matter the environment. The Reticle doesn’t Flicker Even Under Heavy Recoil
This is not the complete list of AR-15 scopes for under $100. This is just scratching the surface of what you can find out in the internet. When choosing a scope think of what you need it for realistically. Don’t get a scope that you think you might get into long range shooting. Most people don’t shoot any farther than 200 yards, these scopes under $100 is fine for that.
