For a rare encounter with a wild dog, black bear, mountain lion or a two legged predator you certainly would be well armed. While I do not see them listed online as available anymore, there are many .357 Magnum commercially made cartridges that would watch your back and do a great job. If the bullet doesn’t get the adversary, the muzzle blast will certainly dissuade them from their dangerous actions! What about for target practice? Well lead projectile standard .38 Special cartridges allow for lighter recoil and easier to pay bill at the local gun shop. Also, this cartridge is quite easy to load for the home reloader, and this offers the shooter even more flexibility with what shoots best in their trusty revolver. Cast bullets? That is another great way to save cash especially if you cast your own.
